Zayed University, Together Against Bullying

We were honored to collaborate with Zayed University to teach people about such an important issue, and they trusted that we would use a unique explainer video that would help effectively elevate the effects of bullying.

How did we tackle this issue?

By mixing a 2d explainer video structure supported by text/typography and statistics, we managed to not only bring this issue back to the top of people’s consciousness, but also make sure people remember Sammy’s story and what it represents.

Remember?

Knowledge retention has always been a barrier whenever any type of traditional teaching method is involved, but by using a visual aid we simplified the complex issue that is bullying made sure people remember the information presented.

What are the different types of Elearning explainer videos

Typography explainer videos.

This type of explainer video takes the simplicity and authenticity of text based presentations and enhances it with animations to add a visual stimulation to the words which are accompanied by a voice over.

Where is this helpful?

For presentations with a significant amount of information and statistics like a sales proposal or budget presentation, typography explainer videos highlight the most important text and helps readers better understand and remember pertinent information.

Live-Action videos are filmed outdoors or in a studio using a camera brining an authentic classroom experience to students as well as clear and credible content for businesses giving their audience a strong sense of relatability.

Where is this helpful?

Live-action explainer videos are most useful when introducing practical academic topics to students and in awareness or PR campaigns for businesses who want to increase their credibility with their audience.

Whiteboard animation is very effective at delivering educational content as it unravels the subject of the explainer video gradually using a hand drawing, a process which works well for businesses on both the explanation and promotion of any product or service.

Where is this helpful?

Whiteboard videos work well with a variety of products and services as they provide engaging animated explanations of how the product or service works.

2D Animated Explainer Videos

Interactive video learning using 2D animated videos involves incorporating animation with text, music, and subtitles to serve as stimuli to the viewer’s memories and increase the retention of information, which is ideal for delivering information in an entertaining way.

Where is this helpful?

2D animated videos are the most commonly used type of animated video for business, their appeal lying in their characters and story. Any type of company or organization can benefit from a 2D animated explainer video describing their products or services.

3D Animated Explainer Videos

Giving an extra dimension to demonstrations makes information presented in 3D animated explainer videos more comprehensible in academic contexts and more engaging and memorable in business advertisements. By integrating fully animated 3d models, you are triggering more receptors in the part of the brain responsible for comprehension and memory thus making the whole experience that much more unique.

Where is this helpful?

This type of video would assist instructors in explaining abstract educational concepts as well as boosting any marketing campaign using memorable 3D animations.

LMS

Learning Management Systems include a variety of modern learning methods, including virtual classrooms and webcasting, all of which are easily accessed. LMS provides both businesses and higher learning institutions with information regarding the training of staff, students, and other businesses optimizing the training process and possibly even filling in for a third party training or eLearning software.

It does this by deploying and running training and eLearning programs while providing easy access to staff who are able to optimize content for specific audiences, as well as students or customers who would have remote access to a large database of eLearning resources including eLearning explainer videos.

How do explainer videos come into play?

Explainer videos grant users easy accessibility helping accommodate the different paces at which people learn. By allowing learners to access different modules at their own time, it makes the process more practical and time efficient for people with busy schedules.

Keep learners engaged.

Dull slideshows and presentations have been inefficient at holding people’s attention long enough for any sort of meaningful ideas to stick in their minds, a gap which explainer videos fill by engaging learners with interactive audio and visuals.

How do they stand up to complex ideas?

When it comes to dealing with topics that require more in-depth analysis, explainer videos break down complex ideas into simpler, more easily digestible models, appealing to a wider audience who respond better to visual eLearning content. One example is illustrated by a recent study which shows that mobile “how-to” searches on YouTube are growing 70 percent year-over-year and more than 100 million hours of how-to content have been watched in North America this year so far. VerveVideos.com looked into this and here’s what we found.

Knowledge retention up, dropout rates down.

One major reason why learners drop out of traditional academic institutions is how dull conventional presentations are, which is why most experts including those at the Research Institute of America suggests that eLearning increases retention rates by up to 60 percent by stimulating higher order thinking using visual and audio cues.

Explainer videos remove the main barrier facing instructor-led courses, knowledge retention.

Stimulating discussion.

Social media like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram has opened a direct line of communication between tutors and their audience which in turn encourages people to talk about the Information with the tutor and with others.

According to Glaser, R., people recall 70 percent of what they say or discuss with others making explainer videos a valuable tool in encouraging discussion and storing more information.

Elevating your content.

Where words fail, animation succeeds. Award-winning eLearning designer, Tim Slade, said in an interview that animation can bring your content to life when used properly. If you combine powerful visuals, audio narration, and a great script, you can create a long-lasting, multi-sensory learning experience. Slade advised against using animations for the sake of using animations. ‘’If you’re using animations to “spice” or “jazz” things up, don’t do it!’’

We cannot help but agree with Slade. Animation can create the perfect atmosphere for your content; whether you’re targeting middle school students or a multinational corporation. Aside from guiding and communicating with the audience, animated videos can also be inspiring, taking the audience on an emotional journey that engages all their senses.

Elearning, The Big Picture.

So what really is elearning? We here at VerveVidoes.com wanted to practice what we preach, so we made an explainer video that pretty much covers its advantages, disadvantages, and everything else you need to know so that we could open up the discussion on how we could help you integrate elearning into your business or organization.

Explainer videos can elevate your content and help your message resonate with a far larger audience. Just like we used an explainer video to explain elearning, you can introduce a new product or service using an elearning video knowing full well that you would increase conversion rates from your website and add value to your business and product.
